A Letter from the Pastor & Principal
Dear Friends of St. Peter School,
Another year has passed, and we would like to update you on how your support has helped our school this past year. We have been able to purchase the new computers that were needed, we improved our Promethean Boards functionality by purchasing add on equipment and our internet is fast and reliable now. The teachers were very grateful of the support you showed them when they received their bonus last school year. It is always good knowing that your efforts are appreciated.
We have many new faces on staff this year. Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Duke have joined us from St. Mary’s in Vermilion, Mrs. Caloway stepped into kindergarten when Mrs. Hoyt decided not to return from her maternity leave and Mr. Rickel is our new music teacher. In addition, we have been able with the assistance of Huron City Schools, to work out a schedule for our interested seventh and eighth graders to take band at the middle school. It certainly has been a busy start to the school year.
We have decided this year to begin a Gifted Services program in conjunction with North Point Educational Service Center (NPESC). NPESC will come to train our teachers in providing gifted services in the classroom and will also assist with the identification of students who would benefit from this service. I am happy to report that we have nearly 100% staff buy in for this program and with your assistance we will be able to provide the training and support our teachers need to bring a high quality gifted program to St. Peter School.
Your continuing support will not only help us fund the Gifted Program, but it will also provide scholarships for students with financial need making Catholic Education a reality for them. In addition, your support will provide for teacher bonuses and grow our school endowment. We couldn’t do all of this without your support.
Please know that we keep you in our prayers and ask that you do the same for us.
Yours in Christ,
Father Doug Garand, Pastor St. Peter Parish
Kimberly Cope, Principal St. Peter School
