CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) Sports
CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) sports offer young students the opportunity to participate in various athletic activities within a supportive and Catholic environment. These sports programs typically include popular team sports such as basketball, volleyball and cheerleading. CYO sports often integrate values-based education, incorporating lessons of respect, responsibility and integrity into the sporting experience, aligning with the Catholic principles underlying many participating schools.
Basketball
CYO basketball provides our students with an exciting and enriching athletic experience. As part of the Catholic Youth Organization's sports program, basketball offers boys and girls the opportunity to learn fundamental skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing and defense and the rules of the game.
Volleyball
Our dedicated CYO coaches work with our athletes on the fundamental volleyball skills of serving, passing, setting, and spiking. Practices focus on skill development, strategy, and teamwork in a supportive, fun environment.
Cheerleading
CYO cheerleading provides students with an exciting avenue in fostering school spirit and camaraderie. Students learn a variety of cheers, chants, dances, and stunts. Practices focus on skill development, teamwork, and performance. Our students can showcase their talents and enthusiasm through their participation in cheerleading.
Additional Opportunities
In the event that a particular sport is not available through the St. Peter CYO program, students have the option of participating at either Sandusky Central Catholic or through the student’s home school district.
