1st - 4th GRADE
Our first through fourth grade classrooms are a testament to the nurturing environment that combines academic excellence with spiritual growth. Students embark on a journey of discovery guided by dedicated teachers who instill core values of faith, compassion, and service. Each day begins with prayer followed by engaging, tailored lessons that lay the groundwork for future academic success. In addition to the core curriculum, students increase their understanding of their faith and its relevance to their lives through scripture study. Beyond the classroom, we prepare our students to become responsible and empathetic leaders in their community through extracurricular activities, service projects, and community outreach initiatives.
Curriculum
English Language Arts (ELA):
Our focus is on the foundational skills of print concepts, phonological and phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency. Our primary students gradually increase their fluency in reading and comprehension. Teachers also work with our students on handwriting, spelling, word analysis, and vocabulary.
Mathematics:
Students work on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division over the course of their primary school years. In addition, they learn about linear measurement and units of measurement, fractions, fraction equivalence as well as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing of fractions, and describing and analyzing 2D & 3D geometric shapes and their properties.
Religion:
Our religion curriculum prepares our primary students to be active participants of the Catholic faith through daily lessons, Bible stories, and projects. Students learn about building strong character and respect for others. Students participate in all school and class masses. Our second grade students prepare and receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion at St. Peter Church.
